Irregularity is a miserable condition. It’s uncomfortable, painful and unhealthy. If you suffer from chronic constipation, it’s even worse. Constipation can cause toxins to build up in your bloodstream, causing many other more serious problems.

Cayenne pepper has been used for hundreds of years as a home remedy for constipation. It works by promoting peristalsis, the contraction of the large intestine. It also promotes good digestion. When eaten, it is soothing to the digestive tract and also increases saliva and secretions in the stomach. These help to digest food properly.

For most people, cayenne can safely be used at each meal. Besides aiding digestion, it also acts as a blood thinner and improves circulation.

Cayenne can be consumed in several forms. It can be used in cooking or taken in capsules. These capsules are rated in heat units. They are commonly available in the range of five thousand to one hundred thousand heat units.

Cayenne can also be used in combination with other herbs for better absorption in the body.

Most people using Cayenne capsules for constipation usually start off with only one capsule of approximately forty thousand heat units. It is taken after a meal.

You may notice a burning sensation in your stomach. This just means it’s working properly. It could feel a bit like heartburn. This sensation usually lessens or goes away after your body get used to it.

Warning: Never ingest Cayenne seeds as they are toxic.

Cayenne is also able to protect against ulcers caused by Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Also it can help the body better absorb the asthma drug theopylline.

Dick Quinn tells in his book “Left for Dead” that Cayenne pepper helped to save his life after undergoing an unsuccessful bypass surgery. He states that Cayenne helps the circulatory and digestive systems, can regulate blood sugar, lower cholesterol, thin the blood and strengthen the pulse.

He also states that Cayenne pepper is a powerful cleanser of the circulatory system, can stop hemorrhages, heal ulcers, speed wound healing, ease congestion and regulate elimination. It can also prevent the spread of infection and relieve arthritis pain and inflammation.

If you don’t want to take your Cayenne in capsule form, you may instead, use it in your cooking. You can add it to salads, soups and other dishes to improve your health.

So, if you have trouble with constipation, try Cayenne. It’s a simple and inexpensive remedy without the dangerous side effects of prescription medicine. Plus it’ll keep your heart in good shape too.
